Description

Here's my narrowband SHO image of the Swan Nebula, Messier 17.   AKA the Omega Nebula, Lobster Nebula and Horseshoe Nebula.  That's enough names, thank you .

It was imaged over five nights between June and July, 2023.

It has relatively strong but differentiated signal strength in all three filters.  I used the NBColourMapper process to assign SII to Red,
Ha to Green and OIII to Blue.  SPCC with the Narrowband setting produced the blue and grey tones you see here, with a few prominent
yellow stars.  I found this color palette to be unusual but pleasing so stuck with it.  Prior to using NBCC it was a mostly yellow/golden tone.

Thanks for stopping by - the massive backlog of data processing continues!
